Opening Summit China International Trade in Services Fair (CIFTIS)

On the evening of September 4, 2020, the 2020 China International Trade in Services Fair Global Trade in Services Summit was held in Beijing. Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a video address at the summit. The President of Argentina, the Prime Minister of Thailand, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization delivered speeches via video or real-time link.

China International Trade in Services Fair (CIFTIS), formerly known as “Beijing Fair”, together with China International Import Expo and China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), are the three major exhibition platforms for China’s opening up to the outside world in the new era. It has been eight years since CIFTIS was first held in 2012. In 2019, the China (Beijing) International Service Trade Fair was renamed as China International Trade in Services Fair. In 2020, under the theme of “Global Services, Shared Prosperity”, CIFTIS invited international organizations, foreign embassies in China and foreign business associations and institutions and enterprises exhibitors from 148 countries and regions to attend. Twenty-two thousand online/offline domestic and foreign enterprises and institutions including 33 international organizations, 68 foreign embassies in China, 110 foreign business associations and 199 world top 500 enterprises registered.

As one of the international cooperation institutions of CIFTIS, Mr. Bruno Masier, President of World Trade Point Federation was invited to attend the opening summit by real-time link.
