On September 7th, 2023，Chongqing Liangjiang New Area signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the World Trade Point Federation (WTPF). Luo Lin, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Committee, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Liangjiang New Area, and Bruno Masier, President of the WTPF, who attended the China International Fair for Trade in Services in China, and the WTPF delegation held a discussion and witnessed the signing.
Luo Lin welcomed Bruno Masier and WTPF delegation to Chongqing to deepen cooperation and briefed them on the basic situation of Chongqing and Liangjiang New Area. Luo said that Chongqing, as the only municipality directly under the Central and western regions of China, is located in an important strategic fulcrum of the western development, the joint point of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, with an important strategic position, outstanding regional advantages and broad development prospects. Liangjiang New Area is the third state-level development and opening new area in China and the first in inland China. It is the main battlefield and important growth pole for Chongqing’s high-quality development, with unique geographical advantages, agglomeration of open platforms, solid industrial foundation, sufficient innovation momentum and beautiful ecological environment. The Global Trade Point Network has made remarkable achievements in enabling small and medium-sized foreign trade enterprises to grow and expand and has played a positive role in improving the visibility and reputation of cities and promoting economic and trade cooperation of cities.
We hope to take this signing of the strategic cooperation agreement as a new starting point to carry out closer, deeper, and more extensive cooperation and better achieve win-win development. It is also hoped that the Global Trade Point Network will give full play to the role of the platform to help us bring in more foreign trade enterprises and help more excellent local enterprises to “go out”. Liangjiang New Area will actively create a good environment, spare no effort to support the implementation of cooperation projects and continue to provide good services.
Bruno Masier gave a presentation on WTPF. He said that Liangjiang New Area has obvious geographical advantages, first-class business environment and great development potential. The WTPF has been actively carrying out trade promotion activities in China, and is committed to helping enterprises increase trade opportunities, reduce trade costs, and improve trade efficiency. WTPF is full of confidence in the development of Chongqing and Liangjiang New Area and will work together with Liangjiang New Area to promote the project implementation of the agreement and help the New area to further enhance its international influence and foreign trade scale and level.
Subsequently, the two sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, the two sides will strengthen cooperation in international trade and e-commerce based on their respective resource advantages, and promote the culture, business and creative economy of Chongqing and Liangjiang New Area to the world.
World Trade Point Federation, China Association of International Trade Eurasian Working Committee, Beijing International Economic and Trade Development Association and Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Liangjiang New Area officials attended the meeting.
