Welcome to the International Trade Promotion Office for the Small and Medium Enterprises, hosted by World Trade Centre Mumbai, India’s preferred catalyst for world trade development.

Trade Point Mumbai is hosted by World Trade Centre Mumbai, India’s Preferred Catalyst for World Trade Development. Trade Point Mumbai is designed for servicing SMEs, which is the backbone of the Indian economy. Trade Point Mumbai will integrate and compliment the services already offered by the host institution, WTC Mumbai, which have been certified as the Best Quality Practices by the World Trade Centre Association (WTCA), USA.

Today’s highly globalized environment with competition from across the globe has thrown a multitude of challenges to the Indian Industry. SME sector is slowly adopting new technology, new management practices and new enterprise wide systems to see world as their market. SME sector in India manufactures around 8,000 products, accounts for 95 percent of the industrial units and contributes about 39 percent of the value-addition in the manufacturing sector, nearly 80 percent of the manufacturing employment and about 35 percent of exports. The expectations from the SMEs to contribute towards achieving India’s targeted economic growth rates of 9-10% are huge. In this context WTC Mumbai has initiated with WTPF to set up Trade Point Mumbai, as a one-stop-shop providing trade information, trade facilitation and trade transaction services.
