The Info and World Trade Point Federation will organize a “webinar” for Spain and Latin America on cybersecurity next September 2020

The Instituto de Fomento (INFO) of the Region of Murcia in Spain and the World Trade Point Federation agreed to organize, adapting to the current needs generated by the coronavirus, a “webinar” on cybersecurity and digital identity, two of the aspects that concern the most to companies in light of the strong increase in online sales.

Held at the headquarters of the autonomous body, the meeting counted with the presence of  director Diego Rodríguez-Linares, the president of the World Trade Point Federation (WTPF), Bruno Masier, and the Director of the Trade Point Murcia Region, Antonio Castillo. The director of INFO will study the possibility of launching in the region, the pilot program to support the internationalization of companies called “World eTrade Desk”.

The collaboration with the World Trade Point Federation has been developing, with very fruitful results for regional companies, for decades. These new proposals will undoubtedly serve to strengthen the excellent relationship we have with the Federation and, more importantly, if possible, will open up new ways of strengthening our companies, especially on issues as fundamental in the current time as cybersecurity in the international trade, ”said Rodríguez-Linares.

The collaboration covers numerous aspects such as the accession of the Instituto de Fomento (Info) to the Iberoamerican Observatory of Foreign Trade (OICEX), joint participation in fairs, the alliance with training centers in strategic markets and the incorporation of Fellows of the Development Institute in the operational technical centers that the WTPF maintains in Shanghai and Beijing.

Likewise, the collaboration between both entities pays special attention to the joint development and implementation of tools and capabilities that encourage and strengthen the export character of the Region of Murcia and its companies.

Both organizations, given the difficult situation created by the pandemic worldwide, have agreed that the Global meeting of Trade Points, which was scheduled to be held in Cartagena this year, future, will be postponed until the spring of 2021.

The collaboration agreements signed include specific actions for the internationalization of knowledge. Taking advantage of the Trade Points network, the Info develops alliances between the different knowledge agents (universities, business schools, research organizations, technology centers and other entities dedicated to the transfer of innovation) of the Region of Murcia and potential partners in strategic markets. Likewise, actions have been designed to incorporate the regional services sector into the international activities.
