About
Trade Point Ragusa was born, in October 2002, as an operational unit of the Trade Point Program, initiated by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Trade Point Ragusa is therefore a member of the World Trade Point Federation – WTPF.
Located in Ragusa province – Sicily, Trade Point Ragusa was established as a response to a very dynamic economic environment, formed by MSMEs with tradition and experience that wanted to grow beyond the borders of the island.
Trade Point Ragusa represents a gateway to the global network of the WTPF placing the enterprises in a position of suppliers or users of strategic and up to date information. MSMEs can, in fact, identify markets for their products, follow the correct procedures for exchanges and meet opportunities for economic development and international trade. It is also a service center capable of providing all services related to enterprise internationalization, fund raising and international cooperation in general.
The continuous dynamic of the global trade, the shift towards a digital society, generated a very challenging business environment for the MSMEs and Trade Point Ragusa within the framework of the WTPF strategy, is providing support and assistance with specific services.
Services
1. e-Trade ID
Access to the e-Trade ID introduced to bring a higher level of security to all parties involved in a transaction. A digital identity bringing a unique credential that can be used to access to WTPF services.
2. Electronic Trade Opportunities (ETO Trust)
Provides access to the ETO Trust system of WTPF, which allows certified SMEs to post and receive selling and buying leads of products and services of the member companies of the Trade Points and e-Trade Desks.
3. Tradepoint Consulting
Internationalization assistance services
- Organization of seminars and events on trade and international cooperation, trade missions, participation at fairs;
- Search for business partners;
- Market research and studies, analysis of foreign markets;
- Consultancy services relating to commercial transactions and international partnerships, translation and business correspondence.
Services related to the economic and social development of the territories
- Consulting, training and support activities for access to local and European programs and projects;
- Assistance in the formulation of development strategies, marketing and sales plans, economic and financial and market feasibility studies;
- Analysis and feasibility study to access the Direct Management programs of the European Union;
- Assistance and feasibility analysis for access to the European Structural and Investment Funds (European Regional Development Fund – European Social Fund – Cohesion Fund – European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development – European Fund for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries;
- Assistance with loan and loan application procedures relating to programs of international institutions (World Bank, European Investment Bank).

- Information on international trade procedures;
- Useful addresses of organizations for the support of international commerce, present in the countries of the Federation’s network;
- Frequent updates regarding news, developments, international trade agreements;
- Access to information and publications from international organizations.
